Mrs. Leeya Cockfield, Assistant Principal

 

Hello Panthers!

I am incredibly excited and honored to serve as your Assistant Principal at Unity Grove Elementary! UGE is a special place filled with amazing students, dedicated staff, supportive families, and a community that truly cares about children. I am thrilled to be part of the Panther family and look forward to building relationships with each of you.

My greatest passion is ensuring that every student feels loved, valued, safe, and inspired to learn each day. By working together with our families, staff, and community, we can continue creating a positive environment where students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We are truly blessed to be part of the Locust Grove Cluster, where family and community are at the heart of everything we do.

I bring more than twenty years of experience in education and hold certifications in Early Childhood Education (P–5), a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Specialist Degree in Curriculum, Instruction, Management, and Administration. I also hold endorsements in Gifted Education, Mathematics, and Leadership, along with Tier I and Tier II Leadership Certifications.

When I'm not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband of 18 years and our four wonderful children. Being a wife and mother has shaped who I am as an educator and strengthened my commitment to creating a learning environment filled with high expectations, meaningful opportunities, encouragement, and love. I am excited to work alongside Dr. Durden and Mr. Scott as we continue serving this incredible community and helping every Panther soar.
