Mrs. Leeya Cockfield, Assistant Principal

 

Hello Panthers!

I am beyond excited and truly honored to serve as your Assistant Principal here at Unity Grove! This school is filled with the absolute best teachers, students, and staff, and I am thrilled to be a part of such an incredible community. My number one goal is to make sure every single student knows just how loved and valued they are. Working together with all of our amazing stakeholders, I am dedicated to making sure our students feel safe, happy, and eager to learn every day! We are blessed to be part of the Locust Grove Cluster, where family and community are at the heart of everything we do.

I bring over nineteen years of experience in education. I’m certified in Early Childhood Education (P-5), hold a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and have a Specialist in Curriculum, Instruction, Management, and Administration. On top of that, I have endorsements in gifted education, math, leadership, as well as my  Tier 1 & Tier 2 Certification in leadership.

When I’m not at school, I love spending time with my husband of 17 years and our four children. Being their mom has shaped me into the educator I am today, and I strive to create a learning experience that’s full of high expectations, meaningful activities, and a warm, nurturing environment. I am SO excited to work alongside Dr. Durden,Mr. Scott, and Ms. Spence as we lead the UGE staff and continue to serve this wonderful community.
